Advice Online was founded in 2012 by Christian Neff. Going through the complete chain of Swiss Banking education, the founder learnt the banking business from scratch and later specialized in IT and Banking Operations. This expertise and the belief that the web is going to be the next big player in the banking industry led to the vision for a completely new service in the financial advisory business.

Objectives

The company’s goal is to deliver a complete advisory process from the first interaction with the client to the end of the advisory: serving the client a state-of-the-art advisory report. Based on this report, the client assigns a financial advisor to execute the presented investment solution. Additionally, Advice Online is responding to all regulatory challenges striking the financial industry.

Solution

This is where Melon came in as a technology partner developing the online portal Mr. Neff envisioned from the ground up.  On the functional side, Advice Online offers everything necessary to optimize the advisory work for financiers, including a white-label function for implementing the own corporate identity to the page and reflecting company specifics, a file browser to store any kind of information or sales materials, an investment solution function for managing own products down to a single instrument layer, defining the risk/return matrices and finally a convenient and easy to use portfolio manager mask.

The targets could not be simpler: to offer a way to optimize a process that usually takes hours or even days so that it consumes no more than 10 minutes. Advice Online did it, and more than that: the simple-to-use interface and the high-end-functions for managing all content are designed to be manageable also by people without affinity for the internet and web solutions.

The result is an online tool that offers everything needed for a state-of-the-art advisory service, compliant with the highest finance and regulatory standards. Due to the immense optimization of the process and all manual and repetitive tasks, participating advisors have now more time at their hands to invest in client retention and client base growth.
